This course covers the requirements of BS5839-1 and BS6266 for servicing and maintenance of Fixed Fire Extinguishing Systems. It includes practical hands-on techniques for isolation, testing and re-setting of Inert, F-Gas, CO2 and Aerosol Systems, and gives the learner an opportunity to work on electrically live systems.

It ensures that operatives are aware of the dangers of working on this type of system with regard to pressurised cylinders, toxicity and asphyxiation from inhalation and the environmental impact of gas release. Also the dangers associated with the operation of shut down relays that may be associated with these systems.

Service and maintenance operatives who may work on these systems occasionally or on a regular basis.

Candidates should have demonstrable knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems.
