This qualification is intended to develop and provide understanding of the fundamental recommendations placed on fire detection and fire alarm systems. Technicians will understand and be able to reference the recommendations as set out in BS 5839-1.

This course is for those who are working in the fire and/or electrical industry and wish to update or refresh their understanding of BS5839-1

Candidates should be proficient in core skills literacy, numeracy and communication.

This qualification is assessed through a 1.5-hour multiple choice e-Assessment using our online system.

Following completion of the course and a successful pass mark in the assessment, we will issue a FireQual certificate.
