This course examines the phenomenon of fire, what it is, how is fire produced and how we use the products of combustion to warn us of fire. We also explore the equipment that is used to detect and warn us of fire. Finally we introduce learners to fire safety legislation, the requirements of the Regulatory Reform Order and the Fire Safety Act, as well as acquainting them with the structure of the fire industry.

The course is for anyone who intends working in the fire industry and wish to gain an understanding of fire, how we use the products of fire and safety legislation. The course would also be of great benefit to experienced workers who may require a better understanding of the contents of the course.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

This course is designed to enable the learner to gain a basic understanding of:

• Fire Legislation

Delegates will be asked to complete a 20 question multiple choice assessment at the end of the course.

Following completion of the course and a successful pass mark in the assessment, we will issue a FireQual accredited certificate.
