This award covers the full content of BS 5839-1:2017, Fire detection and fire alarm systems for buildings. The standard covers the Code of practice for design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of systems in non-domestic premises.

Who is this course for?

It is intended for learners/engineers who are working in the fire-sector of the electrical industry and wish to update or refresh their understanding of this essential BSI publication. It may also be useful to electricians to gain an understanding of the standard.

Pre-requisites

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification; however, learners must have the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy to complete the learning outcomes and assessments.

Assessment

The learner will be assessed against this qualification by one 50 question on-screen multiple choice exam. This qualification is graded pass or fail only.

Following completion of the course and a successful pass mark in the assessment, we will issue an EAL Level 3 Certificate.
